Our Mission
A unique combination of live music and a working horse farm create the community driven art space that is The Garage. The Garage is nestled at the back of a 77 acre horse farm, Honey Acres, in Boyds, Maryland. The rural farm setting offer a refreshing alternative to other east coast music scenes centralized in cities like Baltimore, New York, or Philadelphia. The Garage’s mission is to create a safe and welcoming space for anyone to come enjoy the wonders of live music and agriculture. All these wonders set The Garage aside from it’s urban counterparts and have thus far created a returning audience of local, and not so local, attendees who know they can show up on any given night for a good time. Bands often remark how refreshing The Garage is thanks to it’s rural setting, peaceful atmosphere, and friendly staff. If you want to enjoy live music and pet some horses, you know where to be.
Where did the music go?
As many of you may know, The Garage has been facing legal issues with Montgomery County since April of 2025. The county claims The Garage is an illegal use of agriculturally zoned land. They took us to district court over this matter, and the judge has ruled in their favor. This means as of May 20th, 2026 The Garage is no longer able to host live music events in the Honey Acres for the time being.
Our priority is always you guys. It is always providing a safe space for people to enjoy music in wide open spaces and come together as a community. The whole reason The Garage exists is to uplift local musicians and artists, and to give a home to anyone and everyone who needs it. We can still accomplish these two goals, but they will look different moving forward.
